Naio Hairstick with Paua Shell inlay
Naio grows in costal forest and into subalpine dry forest.
It is known also as False Sandlewood. This Naio was found on Mauna-a-Wakea.
Naio is used for Fishhooks, house poles, weapons, canoe parts, and various fishing implements. Naio was also used for night fishing torches.
This hairstick was designed and created to connected us to going with it and riding the wave of life with grace. To surrender to Gods will and actively let go and trust.
Hairpic measures 7inches at longest point and is Inlayed with Aotearoa Paua (abalone).
All our jewelry is hand shaped carved, cut, sanded, buffed. We do not use wood varnish.
